Friends of St. Tysilio’s Church
Those who wish to help preserve the fabric of this beautiful 12th-century church, nestling by the River Wye, for future generations can now become a friend of St Tysilio’s and part of the team contributing money and skills to this end.
The hard work of our fund raising team and the generous support of local people, together with the award of a number of substantial grants, has enabled us to complete essential repairs to the spire as part of an ongoing programme of repair and renovation. More recently our further fundraising efforts have led to an updating of the church for the 21st-century with the installation of a toilet and kitchen facilities together with improving disabled access to the church. These changes have made a great improvement to the usability of the building. Our current challenge is to update the electrical system which is currently unsafe and in urgent need of replacement.
Becoming a friend is a commitment to contributing to this ongoing effort – whether by donating toward the costs, helping stage fund raising events, going on the flower rota, or whatever other help you can give.
Each year the friends come together for an annual dinner which is a very special evening held at Caradoc, courtesy of Patrick and Dido Darling.
